Wired IEMs Below ¥10,000: Model and Hi-Res Checks
A ¥10,000 ceiling is a purchase constraint, not a Hi-Res qualification.
A ¥10,000 ceiling is a purchase constraint, not a Hi-Res qualification. Compare the final yen amount, seller and exact connector version before adding a model to the shortlist. The older claim that all six earphones were independently verified for 40kHz or certified by their bandwidth alone was wrong; the published range and a certification are separate facts.
GK / KZ
The original shortlist included GK G5, G4, AK8 Pro, Streak, KUNTEN and KZ ZS10 Pro 2. Keep the full name on the seller page: a Pro, X or connector suffix can change the product. Do not carry the old G5 multi-driver claim or sensitivity units into a purchase comparison without matching manufacturer evidence. KUNTEN's 43Ω/109dB/mW remains a published reference; Streak's 111dB lacks a stated reference.
Bandwidth is not a listening verdict
A published upper frequency such as 40kHz describes a claimed bandwidth, usually without enough level and tolerance information to show the response shape. It does not prove audible air, natural decay or a Hi-Res certification. Examine the audible-band curve and the certification's actual scope separately; full-range planar and dynamic IEMs can both reproduce bass.
USB-C / 3.5mm / 4.4mm
For a 3.5mm IEM, use a compatible digital USB-C-to-3.5mm adapter and check support for headset microphone input if calls matter. Direct USB-C IEM cables place conversion inside the cable or plug. A balanced 4.4mm cable requires a matching balanced output; it cannot plug into a 3.5mm adapter, and its presence is not evidence of an audible upgrade.
Seller and return route
On a marketplace, identify the seller of record, item condition, included cable and warranty provider. For a used or refurbished item, ask about nozzle cleanliness, tip replacement and connector wear. An unopened-item return policy is different from a fault warranty. Save the listing and terms as they appeared at checkout rather than relying on a general promise of free returns or worldwide shipping.
Check fit and comfort
Fit comes before a tuning verdict. Try the supplied sizes gently; left and right ears may need different sizes. If bass changes when you press an earpiece, reseat it and check the seal. Stop if a tip hurts or creates persistent pressure. More isolation is not always desirable when you need to hear traffic or announcements.
