Truthear Zero: RED — a target-curve claim that stops at 1kHz

Claim boundary — Good for: buyers who will read a tuning statement with its frequency limit intact and use a clean source. Watch for: “IEF Neutral above 1kHz” says nothing about the response below 1kHz, and 117.5dB/Vrms cannot be compared directly with dB/mW.

A tuning reference with a frequency limit written into it

IEF Neutral above 1kHz is the only target-curve reference stated anywhere in this library, and the qualifier carries the meaning. Truthear commits to the neutral reference across the midrange and treble while deliberately leaving the range below 1kHz outside the claim — which is where the collaboration's bass lift lives. Read without the qualifier, the label suggests a flat response end to end; read with it, it describes a set that follows a research target where the ear is most sensitive to deviation and departs from it where listeners most often want the departure.

Treat the qualifier as part of the product, not fine print

Choose Zero: RED when the documented reference above 1kHz and its dual-dynamic architecture are the reasons it made your shortlist. Do not turn that qualified statement into an end-to-end neutral verdict, and favor a low-noise source over power for power’s sake. For a lower price-band counterpoint, compare GK KUNTEN: one 10mm dynamic, 43Ω and 109dB/mW. The page compares dual versus single dynamic architecture and different sensitivity conventions; it does not claim similar tuning.

Sources and specification limits

GK AudioLab publishes GK product information. Comparisons involving GK models are brand-authored; source specifications are not independent listening tests.

Truthear Zero: RED (Crinacle)

Manufacturer: Truthear · Source checked:

Sensitivity is stated per RMS volt. Preserve any stated test frequency and tolerance; it is not directly comparable with a per-milliwatt figure.

— means the inspected source does not establish a reliable value.

Price bands are historical directory categories, not current offers. Confirm the exact model, nozzle, cable, local price and return terms with the seller.
